Parents often struggle with feeling overwhelmed and out of control in today’s hectic and overscheduled world. While good intentions, inspiring parenting ideas, and dreams and hopes for children may be omnipresent, keeping up with the business of daily life often gets in the way of creating the space to sit down and “set an intention” for parenting.
The intentional parenting workshop acts as a 90-minute pause to help parents take stock of their lives and create change. The focus will be on:
Reconnecting with yourself and/or your partner around what is most important to you
Thinking about who you believe your children are at their essence and what you think they each need more of in order to thrive and channel their energy
Discussing how to bring more presence, calm, intention, and acceptance to even the most chaotic-feeling moments
Identifying concerns and common patterns of interaction you have with your children and discussing ways to dislodge them
Recognizing when you are in “reactive mode”
Becoming clearer about your own boundaries and identifying when they are trespassed
Reflecting on the past year’s highs and lows to make meaning of them and move forward, incorporating what is useful and letting go of what is not.
The presence of both parents is most productive, although individual participants are also welcome.
Come as parents or get a group of interested friends together and organize your own private session.
